What is UWE?
Underground Wrestling Entertainment (formerly HTR Underground) is a small backyard wrestling federation based out of Hockingport, OH. HTR Underground was founded in 2007 by Sean and Paul Steel they built the foundation for what is now UWE. James Blackwell was brought into HTR in late 2008 and was given control of the company in May 2009. The decision to change the name came from a desire to make the company more professional, thus in June of 2009 HTR Underground officially made the transformation into Underground Wrestling Entertainment. UWE is an Official Member of the National Backyard Wrestling Alliance (NBYWA) and Global Backyard Wrestling News (GBYWN).
