Brown Family Corgis
My family and I have been raising pure bred corgis now for two years. We are beef ranchers in northern Montana. Our ranch is a very family orientated operation. My husband is the third generation of ranch-hands on this ranch. He works along side his brother, mother and father. I am a stay at home mom of a three year old and a one year old with one more on the way. Our ranch is located in the heart of the Bear Paw Mountains 27 miles south of Havre, MT.
I got the idea of raising corgis a few years ago when I got my first corgi as a wedding gift from my brothers. I fell in love with the look, temperament, size; well, just about any thing that has to do with corgis. They are a wonderful family breed. A little dog with a big heart is what I like to describe them as. Unfortunately, my first corgi, Beans, went missing at 6 months old. After my heart healed up I found Albert.
Albert has been a great family dog. He gets along great with my kids, who throw themselves onto him and he just sits there and takes it all in. He also has learned to work cattle with the other cow dogs on the place. However his legs are not quite long enough to keep up in the field. He works best in the corrals. Albert is AKC registered and four years old.
Fiona joined us a year after I got Albert. She is my little princess. Fiona prefers to stick around the house with me and keep me company while the men on the ranch go out and work with the cows. She is also AKC registered and is three years old.
