Miss Muslima
Pageant
Dear Lovely Sisters,
I am a mother of five girls. Naturally I desire the very best for them. When they look in the mirror I want them to see a gorgeous, lively princess some day to become an amazing queen. When I look at the societies around the world I see alot of temptations, which are against the religion of Islam. I don't want my girls to feel left out, nor do I want them to slowly lose their religion. I myself have experienced not practicing a proper Islamic way of life ( as it was revealed to us in the Holy Quran and Saheeh Hadith ). Only by the mercy of Allah was I given another chance to turn my life around and took it. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all of our girls could have the best of this world with out compromising their deen ( religion )? I am determined to do what ever it takes to help my girls have a sense of confidence and more importantly strong Muslima values. Their beliefs should be clearly evident in their everyday manners, choices, and actions. For example: it is extremely important that our girls are in a habit of praying all of their prayers on time, wearing hijab in the company of non-mahram ( not close relative ) men, as our Lord demands us to wear. Sometimes it may be hard to follow all of the Islamic laws, yet we have to teach our girls to keep trying. In particular it is a jihad ( struggle ) for Muslim girls to wear the proper hijab in public.
This pageant is designed for both girls who have not reached maturity (puberty); and those who have reached maturity -who wear hijab in public. The purpose is to motivate and encourage our girls to be steadfast in their struggles to please Allah ( s.w.t.). We want girls to feel the importance of beautifying themselves in the privacy of their family and female friends as well as practice looking pretty indoors. We want to show them that they can show their beauty in the right perspective. That means appreciating and honoring Allah (s.w.t.'s) commandments for us to cover and conceal our adornments in public. That is exactly why we decided to venture into different avenues of creating Muslima empowering activities for striving young ladies around the world.
InshaAllah your family will enjoy this pageant and participate for years to come. If you have any suggestions, comments, questions, or concerns please feel free to contact me. I would love to hear from you. May Allah keep our intentions pure Ameen, and may He be pleased with our efforts, Ameen!
Sincerely,
Umm Abdul-Aziz
