Olusheyi(pronounced "o-loo-shay-e") Banjo, was born on June 3rd, 1980 in San Jose, California to the

proud parents of
Festus Adeeko and Carla Elaine Banjo(later Mccue).He is the youngest of 3 siblings. At

the age of 2 years old he began singing at the Deliverance Church of God in Christ. He began writing

poetry at the age of 8 years old. He also won Hillsdale Elementary School's talent show for his singing, 2

years in a row. In 1993 he joined the Miracle Baptist Church' Youth/ Young Adult Choir, where he

frequently sang lead. In 1998 he appeared in Andrae Crouch's video "Pray" as a dancer. His first poem

"Me and proud to Be" was published by the International Library of Poetry in their book "Halcyon Days" in

2002. He also won the coveted Editors Choice Award for that poem. Other poems followed suit. In 2005

his first poetry book "In Sorrow and Song" was published to great reviews. in 2006, he released his first

Gospel project titled "Look What God Has Done". (In Stores Now!!!). On March 26,2007, he became the

newest reporter at the Los Angeles Wave/West Hollywood Independent newspaper. On May 1,2008, he

began his "The Big O Gospel Show" on www.kjfjfm.com. Olusheyi makes an appearance in webisode of

Warner Brother's new web show "Twinkle,"(premiered September 10,2008 on www.wbtv.com) On

November 17 ,2009 Olusheyi will release his second gospel project "Olusheyi." Also he makes a cameo

appearance in the motion picture "The Soloist."(out April 24,2009.) Olusheyi appeared in the gospel

stage play In 2009, "Come As You Are" as J Rock. Olusheyi Banjo has completed his second

volume of poetry titled "Hitchhiking Down Life's Highway" which will be in stores March 15, 2010.

He also looks foward  to completeing his first R&B project "Cleansin' Soul" out in 2010.
