Dr. T.W. French, Sr. was born in 1971. He confessed Christ at the early age of 7 in a Pentecostal Church. August 1978, he was baptized in the Name of Jesus in which he received the gift of the Holy Ghost.
His upbringing was very rough. He was surrounded by lots of negative influences. He spent 3 years living on the streets, going from one abandoned building to another. Due to this lifestyle, he became very mature at a young age. When his mother could no longer take care of him and his siblings, they were sent to a home for children.
He was a founding member of a notorious street gang. He gained a serious reputation as a violent bully. Today, he is still known as an O.G. "Original Gangsta" which he is not proud of. Bishop French encourages at risk youth that there are more positive ways to express themselves especially in the African American community. Many of these teens need positive living examples of overcoming obstacles and Bishop French is that living example.
At an early age, Dr. French was known as a child prodigy. His IQ exam test was very high.
Many people may feel that Dr. French was dealt a bad hand but God primes His anointed for great service. He was placed in a foster home. Dr. French excelled academically and athletically. Dr. French graduated from High School in 1990 with academic and athletic scholarships.
During High School, he was called to the ministry but he ran from the calling. He accepted his call while in college.
Dr. French was a Golden Gloves champion.
In 1993, Dr. French preached his first sermon at True Belief Missionary Baptist Church. Many things transpired over the years which opened the eyes of Dr. French.
God told Dr. French to leave the Baptist faith and return to his Pentecostal roots.
In 1998, God called him to the office of Pastor. Over the years there were many changes within the ministry. Urban Harvest Bible Institute & Seminary was founded in 2001. He was consecrated to the sacred office of Bishop, through Grace Ministries International Fellowship in 2004.
In April 2006, Bishop French was elected as the new president of Saint Timothy Theological Seminary. Dr. French merged the two seminaries together, which is now called Saint Timothy Theological Institute & Seminary, Inc. In 2009, Bishop French was elected the Chancellor of Biblical Life Theological Seminary, Inc. located in Elmhurst, New York.
Bishop French is an anointed man of God who is known for his illustrated sermons and always allows the Lord to use him to the fullest. Over the past few years, Apostle French has endured many trials but glory be to God, he has weathered the storms.
In 2008 the newbirth took place, God laid it own the heart of Bishop French to change the name of the church to Higher Calling Word Christian Church.
Due to the gift of wisdom from God and being a former child prodigy. Dr. French once again excelled in the academic arena.
Dr. T.W. French, Sr. holds an Associates Degree in Business, Bachelor in Theology degree , Certificate in Biblical Mental Health, Master of Theology degree and a Master of Ministry degree. He has an earned Doctor of Theology degree, Ph.D. in Comparative Religions and a Ph.D. in Liberal Arts & Sciences. Dr. French also has a Continuing Education Certificate in Psychology.
Accomplishments include name being placed on the "Wall of Tolerance" co-chaired by the late Rosa Parks in 2002.
In 2003, Dr. French was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel through the State of Kentucky.
To date, Dr. French has received four honorary Doctorate degrees
. He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree (Mount Carmel Institute of Biblical Studies), honorary Doctor of Ministry degree (Southern Indiana Bible College & Seminary), honorary Doctor of Divinity degree (Grace Valley Theological Seminary) and a honorary Doctor of Divinity degree (Freedom Bible College & Seminary).
He is the author of one book titled "The Solomon Syndrome". He is currently working on his second book titled "The 15 Characteristics of Christianity".
Dr. French was nominated for the Marquis Who's Who in America, the 2009 Edition.
Dr. French serves as an adjunct Professor for University of World Christian Ministries Association. He serves on the Board of Directors for Mount Carmel Institute of Biblical Studies. He also serves on the Board of Regents of Covenant Bible & Theological Seminary, Inc. and is a Commission Member for Global Evangelical Accrediting Commission. He is a proud husband and father of four children.
